The befriending service has been developed to provide female survivors
of domestic violence who have separated from their abuser, on-going
emotional and practical support.
For many women, the stress of leaving a controlling partner and
starting a new life on their own can be overwhelming. Quite often
women return to abusive relationships because the alternative seems
even worse. The Befriending Service aims to help women by:
- Providing a regular visitor
- Allowing the woman to talk through her experience
- Assisting the woman to access local facilities and services
- Enabling the woman to make decisions which put her back in control
of her own life
If you would welcome the support of a trained and supervised volunteer,
