East Surrey Domestic Abuse Services

BEFRIENDING SERVICE

The befriending service has been developed to provide female survivors of domestic violence who have separated from their abuser, on-going emotional and practical support.

For many women, the stress of leaving a controlling partner and starting a new life on their own can be overwhelming. Quite often women return to abusive relationships because the alternative seems even worse. The Befriending Service aims to help women by:

  • Providing a regular visitor
  • Allowing the woman to talk through her experience
  • Assisting the woman to access local facilities and services
  • Enabling the woman to make decisions which put her back in control of her own life

If you would welcome the support of a trained and supervised volunteer, please contact 01737 771350 or e-mail support@esdas.org.uk
